Default Is Brie Larson the first Oscar-winning actor to lead a well-received...

...superhero movie AFTER winning their first Oscar?

I know Halle Berry played Catwoman after winning her Oscar but that movie was ****. And Christian Bale played Batman but BEFORE he won his Oscar.

    So is Brie the first?

If you don't count Gene Hackman or Jack Nicholson, both of whom were billed above the actor playing the superhero.

Of course I don't count them. Lead a superhero movie means play the lead superhero.

AP as Rogue in X-Men she was definitely a major character and was an Oscar Winner.

Nah, she wasn't a lead in that, really. Hugh Jackman was the lead.

Jack was legit billed as the lead and was marketed more than Keaton. He also got a percent

Does Ben Affleck count? I mean he did win for Good Will Hunting but as a writer.

"The Dark Knight Rises" was released after Bale won the Oscar for "The Fighter".

Eh, nah. I meant Oscar-winning actors who'd won Oscars for their acting.
