Default Select the actor who should play Live-Action Bruce Wayne XI

Ben Affleck, who was Live-Action Bruce Wayne X (or LABW 10), has officially hung up the cowl.

He will obviously not be the last live-actor (as opposed to voice-actor, which is a totally separate type of acting) to portray the Dark Knight.

Not when DCE is already trying to get THE BATMAN movie ready for a 2021 release date.

So, Batman fans, who IYHO should get the role of Live-Action Bruce Wayne XI (LABW 11)?

Armie Hammer is currently the most often mentioned name. But he says he hasn't been approached by WB at all. Also, he's a little older than what they say they are going for (I think he's early 30s, and WB wants early 20s).

Hmmm .... I need to ruminate on this a bit.

    What do YOU say?

Why no Bradley Cooper. I know it won't be he's already Rocket Rackoon for Marvel.
But if you want a young Bruce, I'll keep David Mazouz from the tv show Gotham, he'll be 20 in 2021.
    Other than that you've got:
    * Wentworth Miller - he's good looking (well, he was in Prison Break)
    * Anson Mount - he's not bad at all in Hell on Wheels
    * Matthew McConaughey - he's just the best actor ever, but maybe a bit old to stay a Batman long

Not always. I believe he was in his 20s for a lot of the pre-Crisis era, at least late 20s/early 30s. Him being in his 40s is a relatively recent development to justify having so many kids in his life that made it into their 20s.

If they want to get a lot of mileage out of Batman, an actor in the same age range as Gadot and Cavill, if not younger, is probably for the best.

Pretty sure almost all DC heroes were perpetually 28 for many years, through the 70s at least.

As others have said, no, not always. I want someone new, fresh, and has a slim chance to continue playing the character for the next 20 years.

Alright, I'll ask: who is Scott Atkins and why does there seem to be a very vocal fanbase that insists he is perfect for the role?

I mean, Bruce Wayne is blandly handsome enough so that any tall-ish, decent-looking white guy with a strong jawline could do him well.

Let's see what else there is about him ...

    Oops, only 5'10".

Oops, born in 1976, so he's already 42/43 years old.

Best Randy Jackson voice: Yeah, that's gonna be a "no" for me, dawg. Too short, and much too old.

Pretty sure Batman was in his mid 20s in Batman: Year One. And it sort of sounds like this is the Batman that The Batman is going for. So mid 30s at the oldest. Add my vote to those calling for Armie Hammer, 32 yo and 6'5"

    Yup.

Stated that his return to Gotham after trainining (and debuted as Batman shortly after) was around 18 years after the death of his parents, which occured when he was 7-8ish.

Way too old. The man is 54 years old. If Ben Affleck at 46 years old is a problem how is Patrick Warburton the solution?

Also too old. At 42 years old being only 4 years younger than Ben Affleck isn't the solution. Plus at 5'8" too short.
