Where's the evidence for these statements? Disney's movies and especially Marvel Studio's pictures are doing great. Brie Larson's publicity worked wonders for the movie, judging by box office. Only #comicsgate whiners are complaining and no one needs their money or support. They can go find some other hobby to complain about.

Welcome to the club. I keep asking the same question. Where is the evidence of any of this? Why does what we see seem the opposite? No answers. Just more claims of "You wait and see. The apocalypse is coming and you'll all be sorry".

Funny enough, lots of the Youtubers that were anti-Captain Marvel have started conceding that they've "failed" with this movie after seeing the second weekend drop.

Even Grace Randolph (who's a massive DC fan and has been critical of Disney/Marvel in the past) had to "mildly" call out the other youtubers for misrepresenting and even "lying" about Captain Marvel.

LOL....like most of us have said here, they should just take the L and keep quiet about the movie. All the talk about tarnished brand is just hollow, Marvel will continue to make their movies like all this never happened. And going forward, the online hate brigades will simply be viewed as what they are, an insignificant portion of the general audience.

Most people aren't trolls and really don't see everything through the lens of politics.

How was that? Because the tv spots said Her - o? If that offends you, I dont have anything left to say. They didn't push any serious amount of people away and the people who get offended by diversity or strong women arent an issue. The movie is gonna land north of 900m, with the exception of Black Panther that's amazing for a Origin film.

You can keep saying that nonsense but wheres evidence that Disney did anything to RT and that people care enough to remember? I'm so confused on how Disney has control over what competitors do. RT if it could be influenced has invested interest in hurting Disney since WB and Universal have competing franchises with the MCU.

Iono you keep saying things that have no basis in what we actually know. So unless you have some inside scoop on Disneys affairs some actual facts would be nice

Trolls: Captain Marvel isn't going to sell without it primary base "White Males" derp derp Watch Battle Angel

Movie comes out and it sells well its first week note amazing 94% loved by audience Rotten Tomatoes Battle Angel fell behind stuff like Madea,How to tame your dragons and the Lego movie

Trolls: Disney is buying tickets and manipulating the media, Captain marvel is going drop off huge after this first week

Also Trolls : For a 150 dollar movie to be successful it needs to make around 700 million to break even( wait isn't break even making three times your budget??) so 900 million is really success.(seriously I am not making that up)

Movie continues to sell very well, It looks like is going to make a billion

Trolls Making a lot of "Money doesn't mean quality" look at Transformer franchise it is horrible and it made lots of money.

    Yeah the argument keeps changing

The last one is valid but also has nothing to do with they're original complaints. That's not moving the goal post that just running backwards and calling a safety a touchdown

The problem for those people is that to admit defeat with regard to Captain Marvel is to admit defeat for their entire agenda. They can never admit that no one outside their circle-jerk cares. They'll blame everything else before looking at themselves. The dignified thing to do would be to crawl back under their rocks but dignity isn't their strong suit. As long as they don't have the self-awareness to realize they're turning themselves into a laughable spectacle, they'll be no one's problem but their own.

You have zero proof of this weird theory. Captain Marvel is Disney/MCU "worst marketed movie" and it is on its way to billion dollars or near billion

    Captain America Civil War $1,153,304,495

    Dr Strange $677,718,395

    GoG2 $863,756,051

    Spiderman Homecoming $880,166,924

    Thor Ragnarok $853,977,126

    Black Panther $1,346,913,161

    Avengers Infinity $2,048,359,754

    Antman and Wasp $622,674,139

    *Captain Marvel $760,213,933

Your theory is the general public is going to jump off after Endgame. When the numbers point the general public supported the new MCU projects very well and current phase of projects well. Let pretend that Iron Man, Cap and Thor isn't coming back. Marvel is moving forward with Dr. Strange ($ 677,718,395) Spiderman ($ 880,166,924) Captain Marvel ($760,213,933) and (Black Panther $1,346,913,161) that is very solid base. Even if you go hey Spiderman is going back Sony, Marvel is getting Wolverine back which did recently ($619,021,436) with Fox. Not to mention Ironman has Warmachine(Don Cheadle) or Riri Williams, Thor has Jane Thor , and Captain America has Buckycap(Sebastian Stan) or Falconcap(Anthony Mackie). So it is not like they can't still utilize those properties without rebooting. For your theory to be correct.

    1. You needed Captain Marvel not to do good because that is base behind of the public being upset which clearly that is not the case, The Last Jedi made a 1.321 billion, Captain marvel is on her way to a billion. Maybe DC and Sony need upset "the public" so their movies can do as "badly" as those movies.

    2. You need every fan who is 28 to 45 right now to drop dead. Because your argument is the age group range is higher for Captain Marvel so Marvel is "losing out on younger fans". BUT those 28 to 45 year old fans aren't dying anytime soon and just supported Captain Marvel movie to probably around 900 to 1 billion dollars. And Disney /MCU has say 10 or 20 years with that fanbase.

So understand there is no movie after endgame out yet so you have no proof of a drop off and Marvel has gotten very strong performance by new IP Black Panther and Captain Marvel. And marvel movies numbers are trending up so you have no proof in a drop off in that area. In fact ONE movie for Marvel has made less than original which is Age of Ultron which still made a billion dollars. You literally have no proof any drop off because every Marvel movie sequel has made more than movie that came before it except ONE.

It is fair assessment to say at some point Disney/MCU will drop off but what you are saying is just a wild guess not based on anything but your feelings/bias.There is no shred of evidence that points to Marvel falling off directly after endgame.

This is about how information is shared online, where people are allowed to have open discussion against the backdrop of Captain Marvel's controversial marketing campaign. Disney crossed the line in what they were willing to do to push Captain Marvel and that will have far reaching consequences for public discourse going forward.
You misinterpreted my point. I have seen many political movements come and go over the years and there is a pattern that they tend to follow. I was suggesting we will potentially see a more unified group emerging from this, potentially using more focused and targeted tactics, if (and this is a big if) the underlying ideology doesn’t get exposed as being mostly disaffected guys with nothing better to do.

Gentle reminder that Larsen didn't do that. The media intentionally mischaracterized a statement of respect and inclusion into something entirely different and demonstrating the hate in their hearts. A very unstable set of people are making a choice to run with that narrative rather than admit the obvious truth because they prefer to hate for their own disturbing reasons. Disney's marketing is among the best in the world, and this scenario rather demonstrates that. Nothing destructive about it all. But the reaction of the extremists is certainly destructive, and the rest of us aren't having it. Any of it. We're not that stupid, and insisting we believe stupid things is in no way going to change that.

The statements were not made as part of the of the marketing for Captain Marvel, nor was it a political campaign.

The statements were made at the Crystal and Lucy Awards which celebrates women in film, so of course she took that opportunity to be critical of representation of women in the industry she works in when it come to interviews and critics. Most of the speeches given at the awards were about feminist issues such as gender parity and the Metoo movement.

People didn't seem to understand that . Her comments was said in like May 2018 and she clarified what she said in freaking speech itself. The whole thing in context isn't bad.
