Speaking as someone who's more of a fan of AoS than Legends of Tomorrow, I feel like these are almost all good moves they're making so far. Normally I'd be skeptical of them following Legends' lead like this (especially with time travel exhaustion in media already), but they're hitting all these great emotional beats that justifies the plot device.

I think the difference is Legends likes to visit important moments in history and have known historical figures. The time travel aspect of AoS allows them to visit moments in SHIELD's past and weave a longer narrative limited to US history in the past 70 years or so.

You mean Suedom? How so? I never saw that.

Daisy was also known as "Mary Sue Poots". That's the show acknowledging it.

A lot of Jemma's tech skills (except those related to biology) are hampered without the FitzSimmons team intact. Deke can help her with that, as he did in this episode.

I like Deke, but I really miss the FitzSimmons dynamic. Jemma also seems to be an expert in all things now, which stretches credibility a bit.

IMO it's the best season so far... so far.

But yeah, I would bet somebody doesn't make it to the end.

Occasionally Deke has a good scene, like when he's complaining about how sexist ad racist the past was and how some thing's never change.

He's grown on me some this season, I'll admit. I still think he's obnoxious and annoying, but now and then he does indeed get a quieter, more introspective type moment where he really resonates well, or a chance to show his capability. Largely he's just a walking, self-pitying disaster, but he has had his moments.

I'm really digging Sousa on the show though. I would've liked to get Peggy Carter of course, but Sousa has been a lot of fun so far and I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of him.
