Totally agree. Simonson's Thor for the win.

    Jack Kirby

I like Hemsworth as Thor but the more recent stuff doesn't take itself seriously at all. I'm fine with it being silly and over the top (prefer that actually), but it should at least take itself seriously within the actual narrative.

Anything beginning with Simonson and ending with the Jurgens run. I loved the Jurgens run! I was a big Thor fan in my youth, but right before Heroes Reborn I seemed to have lost touch with him. When the heroes returned and we got a new Thor series, it was perfect.

Lee and Kirby all the way, but it went a little awry.
Then JMS but he didn’t get to finish his story.

There is no perfect Thor for me, and without Blake he is diminished IMO.

Yes, for me too (though I've belatedly come to appreciate the Lee/Kirby run).

You must have meant "Kirby and Lee".

It's tough to downplay the Lee/Kirby stuff, but I give the title to Simonson because of his more extensive and smooth use of Norse myths. There was some stuff with the original run, but Simonson mixed the mythology and superheroics wonderfully.

The Simonson run is freakin' awesome and one of my fave runs on a comic ever BUT, nothing compares to Kirby's Thor for me.
