Default Who should play Hal Jordan if a movie is ever made?

I'm not up to date on DC potential movies, but if they do decide to try and make another Green Lantern movie, who should play Hal?

I'd kinda like to see Joe Manganiello play him (since I guess his Deathstroke movie isn't going to be made). His silver sideburns remind me of the Gerald Jones period of the early 90s.

So, you want the guy who was suppose to be Deathstroke to take the place of the guy who had better luck as Deadpool?

If Jon Hamm was about 10 year younger he would be my choice.

I really liked the idea they were floating around there for a while with it being a Hal/John buddy cop movie with one of them being the older vet and the other being the rookie. If they go that route and want and older Hal then Karl Urban would be my go to choice. If they want to flip it and go with the older John and younger Hal than someone like Luke Benward or Robbie Amell would fit that role of young Hal nicely.

When they announced they had wanted a "seasoned" Hal Jordan I was all aboard for getting James Marsden - he can join the ranks of actors who were underused as one super-hero just to gain massive success as another hero!

Back in 1977, here were some fan choices:

Green Lantern--Don Galloway, Roger Moore, Robert Conrad, James Caan, Robert Wagner, John Saxon, and Don Meredith.

I actually thought Galloway looked the most like Hal of the group back then, but they all seem like cringe-worthy choices today.

Ahahahaha--- quite true! (40 + years will do that)

I don't know who would be a good choice.

Hal Jordan was based on Paul Newman

So whatever current actor has some of his qualities.

Efron would be better for Guy than either Hal or Kyle IMO. Just dye his hair red and there you go.
Good Marvel characters- Bring Them Back!!!

Guy Gardner was based on Martin Milner, looks nothing like Efron.
They've made all these once unique looking and acting characters, near completely generic and visually interchangeable.

At Guy's intro, they were setting up the potential for the buddy-cop dynamic, after Adam-12's Milner(Malloy) and McCord(Reed) popular partnership, which had just debuted that same year.
(Although with the partner veteran and rookie roles flipped)

Of course by the time Dennis O'Neil was writing GL, this partnership looked dated, so they wrote out Guy, and instead introduced John Stewart as the rookie "cop" to now veteran Jordan.

I also didn't recognize that as Zac Efron. He's really not in my thought process as an actor, so people shouldn't make assumptions that we know who everyone is just by a picture--especially pictures that don't show the face fully.

Anyway, I see that he's now 31 years old, so that would actually be an ok age for an actor to start a superhero franchise.

I haven't really seen his movies, so I don't know what kind of actor he is, but, hey, I can accept him more than Joey Lawrence as Batman.

Yeah, nobody has those qualities these days. (except maybe Ryan Gosling, but he doesn't look like Hal)

I always say Dennis Quaid would have been perfect back in the day:

Back in the '70s, I thought the Neal Adams' Green Lantern looked like Hugh O'Brien.
