Funny thing is that the Morrison leather would've been perfect for this tone. And most of the characters in this book were absent during that era so you still get some new looks. And it would be over and done with by the time this era ends in a couple months so the crybabies who are still screaming about Cyclops' yellow spandex line from a movie 19 years ago won't be too freaked out.

Not only that but we know from a few different titles that they still have at least parts of the Morrison leathers. Like the jackets.

Although aesthetically I agree that leather jackets would be better, there would be something profoundly ironic about wearing Morrison's costumes in a comic whose premise is to return everything as it was in the 90s

The problem is not the tone per se, it is the reiteration. When they have been about to go extinct a lot of times before, one more does not feel like the first ones.

This story feels like I've read it a thousand times and Rosenberg saying "Every X-Men story is the same" does not make it smarter.

Do not worry I'm sure and everyone should agree with me that Major X will be a divisor in the history of X-men in marvel that will revolutionize and revitalize the mutant comics .

I can't seem to get into this no matter how hard I try. There doesn't seem to be a soild plan as a whole and the costume are just awful and the art is questionable.

Problem is what we have to go through to get to that point and how much of it will be unnecessary, bad or unnecessary and bad.

Well, that’s where differing opinions and tastes come into play I guess. I don’t mind what we’re going through right now as readers. In fact, I’m rather enjoying it. It’s the most the X-men have felt like the X-men to me in quite some time.

With that concept in mind, why read the comics issue to issue? Everyone knows all of the drama will be reset, all of the pain the characters go through made meaningless, and the events waved away by whoever takes over next.

It’s not a concept, it’s fact. One that I accepted a long time ago. Ultimately, the good guys will prevail and death isn’t permanent. That’s just how it is with these serialized mainstream superhero comics. With that in mind, I don’t mind the grimdark.
