The Only DC comics I ever read were Planetary, the Watchmen and Vamps. The first 2 I love. Vamps I hate. I just think Vamps is too depressing. Does any hardback copy of the Watchman exist and is the paper coated?

You are right to love and hate them. The first two are great, and Vamps is terrible.
Yes, there are various different Hardback formats of Watchmen. Not sure what you mean by "coated"
