Merge him into the black version of Cyclops for about a year or two.

Jean had more presence in death than Cyke in Hickman's entire run.
Hickman succeeded where 2010s Marvel didn't: make the X-Men villainous and irrelevant.
Hilariously, the X-Men have now fully embraced mutant supremacy and racism against humans.

I have found cool Cyclops--

He's been cool since the Giant-Size X-Men era began. The character is a natural leader, a master strategist, and should epitomize super-hero above all else. Nevertheless, I'd do the following:
1. He is fully healed of the influence/scars that his time merged with Apocalypse left behind. He's older & wiser. He still believes in Xavier's dream, but is not an unrealistic idealist. Even if it is unobtainable, a hope-focused outlook is a positive thing.
2. He (and Jean) would make rescuing Rachel, helping her heal, and embracing her as their daughter a high priority.
3. He and Jean getting back together is inevitable, but it should be done very slowly. The relationship needs to add to their characters without defining them.
4. Visually, a head-gear free version of the Whedon-era costume would be perfect. Keep that hair uncovered! A blue/gold jacket over it would be frequently worn, but not ever-present. If ever a character was well-suited for it, I think it is Scott. Plus, it would add some gold to the Whedon-era costume.
Cyclops needs a trenchcoat and a Devil Trigger.

1: Less love drama, can't stress this one enough.
2: More kickass moments.
3: The writers intentionally have Cyclops be right, have good strategies that actually lead to the X-men not being fucked over. Actually have characters acknowledge this.

Bunn for Deadpool's Main Book!
I liked it. He came across as badass, and yet also a bit fried, as if he was on the raggedy edge of losing it. That was neat.
I also would love if he kept some of that development and no *longer* needed the visor, but just used it to focus and angle the beam, and kept it around in case of one of those inevitable situations where people lose hard-won control temporarily. As Jean said, long, long ago, "I want to see your face."
But the visor seems to be like Chuck's wheelchair. No 'fix' or cure or training will ever get him out of it, because it's 'an iconic part of the brand' or some marketingspeak hogwash.
You shouldn't "fix" a character's disability. Even if you were telling the last X-Men story, "fixing" a character's disability would not be a good thing.

Yeah, it may seem silly but as a child I loved that there was a superhero with glasses like me. It was cool
