Yeah, I came to the same conclusion myself, Roxette has been dropped. Not entirely sure about your suggestion tho', need to listen to it a bit more, methinks. Cheers for the suggestion tho!

Ay, that they do. I'm making a tape, through tons of hard work, to show my dedication tho' - anybody can do a list these days! With a real-deal tape, I'll show her I'm dedicated.

    The process goes like this:

    • Go out and buy tape
    • Chose songs
    • Download in very high quality
    • Burn to cd
    • Record to cassette via my grandma's old boombox

Also, swap Don't Stop Believing for a different song. I'm sure your friend is probably sick of it by now from it's over exposure Red Sox, Sopranos...I'm not a big Journey fan but maybe something like "Just the Same Way?"

Also, what I think of is Goth is different from what young people today think of as Goth is different. But if you want to make another tape and include something closer to her tastes...Cure is a good place to start. Can't miss with Siouxsie and the Banshees. Bauhuas, I'd say either "Bela Lugosi's Dead" or their version of Bowie's "Ziggy Stadust". Nine Inch Nails.
Aww, but I like Don't stop Believing! It is very, very over-exposed tho'. She's a bit different in that she doesn't watch sports, or go to games however - in fact, she hardly watches tv. The two of us are located in Northern Europe as well, so we're only vaguely aware that Red Sox plays baseball, few people here have ever seen a Red Sox game. Most of us watch Soccer, or Hockey.

I'll consider "Just the Same Way" tho', maybe "any way you want it" too, Journey's got a couple of good ones.

And I'll definitely give making an all-new goth-tape some thought. Nine Inch Nails and Bauhus I do believe are actually some of her fav's. She's not into the never kind of goth, Nightwish and the like - she's into the 80's stuff.

Thompson Twins - "Hold Me Now"
    The Cure - "Lovesong"
New Order - "Bizarre Love Triangle"
Cheers! Will have a listen to those. =)

Btw, here's my latest update on the list, I cut it down to size quite a bit. Shorter, but sweeter, imho:

    For You.

    Side 1.
    1. I want it All (2011 remaster) - Queen
    2. Smooth Criminal (radio edit) - Michael Jackson
    3. I’m so Excited - the Pointer Sisters
    4. Take on Me - A-ha
    5. Don’t Stop Believin’ - Journey
    6. I drove all Night - Cyndi Lauper

    Side 2.
    7. I wanna dance with somebody -
    - Whitney Houston
    8. Into the Groove - Madonna
    9. I’d do anything for Love (Radio Edit) -
    - Meatloaf
    10. Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode
    11. Forever Young - Alphaville
    12. Purple Rain -
    - Prince and the Revolution

    I prefer Alphaville's "Sounds like a Melody":

Also Depeche Mode's "Master and Servant", a little S&My but fun:

Agreed with Bert - drop that Roxette track as though it had an Ebola virus! (No offense to Roxette fans, they ain't my cuppa Scandinavian pop).

    Other possibilities:

Yaz - with that incredibly strong Alison Moyet voice, you can't go wrong.
    Move Out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdV-5ivltkc
    Don't Go - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLTGs4fqxBk
my personal favorite, for its weird melancholy, In My Room - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsTK6TZnsB8

As for slightly romantic poppier goth, maybe Peter Murphy's best solo single? (He was Bauhaus's singer): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpz2AWu4PZg
Or, the Sisters of Mercy - but "This Corrosion" may take up all of your cassette or DVD space - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpz2AWu4PZg (and yes, that's Teri Nun from Berlin singing in the background).

as much as I love Peter Murphy (and Bauhaus, and Yaz, and SoM. . (and Love and Rocket & Tones on Tail -- the bands the other members of Bauhaus formed after Murphy went solo) LOL). . and "Cuts you Up" IS a brilliant song. . .

    but it's not his best.

Ah yeah, Indigo Eyes is a very good song. Funny, I just saw his concert last month. He's still got that voice.

I want to make a mixtape for someone too.
Her qualities are honesty, confidence, independence, understanding, intelligence. She's also affectionate, creative, hospitable raised in good manners and has a great sense of humor
The mixtape should emphasize the importance of Woman.
I think we have a chance... if my wife has no objections.

    Def Leppard - Women
    Roki Rodić - Žena
    Saviour Machine - The Woman
    P. Mobil - Asszonyt Akarok
    Vaya Con Dios - What's A Woman
    Hungaria - Szökevény
Kane Roberts - Women On The Edge Of Love
    Hooligans - Nőben A Boldogság
Boney M. - No Woman No Cry
Azra - Lijepe Žene Prolaze Kroz Grad (NSFW)
    Rainbow - Tarot Woman
    James Christian - Voodoo Woman
Bornai BT - Terülj Terülj Asszonykám
TNT - Take It Like A Man, Woman
    Buldožer - Žene I Muškarci
    Demis Roussos - Femme Maintenant
    Cher - Woman's World

If I missed any song that will go with this mix feel free to let me know.
I also want to add a picture to the tape. Something that will nicely sum up all the huge qualities I listed at the beginning.

Swap out the Cher song for a much better one: "Heart of Stone"

(still fits with your "Women" theme ;p)

I see only one obvious exclusion, and that is... AMERICAN WOMAN!! ^^

No woman's -tape should be complete without it. The Kravitz-cover is great too.

Good call. Cher's best period was going through her AOR phase. I still have the S/T CD with the original banned cover.

Of course the most profitable jam track ever, is a must.

OK. so everything went well and we got to mixtape #2.
This time I want to bring her attention to #1.
Well, my greatest virtue is compassion. In case it wasn't clear before I'd like to point out to her that I'm a man.

    MIXTAPE #2
    Chicago - I'm A Man
    Andy Prieboy - Man Talk
    Heaven's Gate - He's The Man
    James Young - Young Man
Nazareth - Every Young Man's Dream
    Dominoe - Family Man
    Mike Oldfield - Family Man
    Fleetwood Mac - Family Man
    Giant - Complicated Man
    Cheetah - My Man
    Günther - Pleasureman
    UDO - Pain Man
    Ámokfutók - Bad Man
    Bonafide - Hard Livin´ Man
    Barefoot Servants - Jealous Man
Michael Monroe - Man With No Eyes
Boswell Sisters/Fran Frey/Mills Brothers - The Old Man Of The Mountain
Rednex - Fe Fi (The Old Man Died)
Royal Hunt - Another Man Down
Ross The Boss - Dead Man's Curve

As earlier if you think I left something out give me a shout.
And once again I'd like to make a photo cover to the mixtape; one that will emphasize my huge virtue:

Pretty good selection, but I would have included 'I'm A Man' by Bo Diddley, 'The Man Song', by Sean Morey, and especially:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO43p2Wqc08

Also, you might want to consider adding a 3-minute edit of Guile's (Street Fighter) theme song.
Go home and be a mixtape man!
Take my dreams, childish and weak at the seams

Never heard the S. Morey song, but most definitely, and of course the Macho Man is another must.

Did you mean this one, because that's epic.

OK, you know what?! I forgot to send her a tape last week. Damn! I hope she still remembers me.
I would say it's time we exchange our phone numbers and here is the mixtape to imply that.

Tamás Szekeres - Warning To Call
    Michal Katon - Wake Up Call (0:00 - 2:49)
    Billy Thorpe - Earth Calling
    Rob Rock - Calling Angels
King Kong / D' Jungle Girls - Walkie Talkie
    Aska - Hello Hello
    Joy - Hello
    Ákos - Hello
    Ultravox - Hello
The Doors - Hello, I Love You
Alliance - Love On The Line
Barclay James Harvest - Love On The Line

You are probably wondering what is the relevance of the last song?
Well, someone told me to impress the girl all you got to have; is a hot convertible and the last model of a mobile phone.
Hence the photo cover for the mixtape, too.

    As expected, it went well.
What should be the next mixtape about? Party!?
Party it is. I want to invite her to one of those held in secret rave parties where you have to listen
to the Radio to get the clue of it's location encrypted in the announcement after a song from Pink Floyd's album The Wall.
    Easy-peasy.

    Buckcherry - It's A Party
DMX - Party Up (Up In Here)
    Hungária - Vízparti, Twist Party
    Ultra-Sonic - Party Non-Stop
Vengaboys - We Like To Party!
Helix - What Ya Bringin' To The Party
    Aqua - No Party Patrol
ZZ Top - Party On The Patio
    Showaddywaddy - Dancin' Party
    Szandi - Bumeráng Party
Steelheart - Late For The Party
    Captain Hollywood - The Afterparty
    Shakin' Stevens - Radio
    Haustor - Radio
    Kick - Radio
Alien - Turn On The Radio
Autograph - Turn Up The Radio
    Queen - Radio Ga Ga
McAuley Schenker Group - I Am Your Radio
    Freedom Call - Rockin' Radio
Firehouse - Rock On The Radio
    Icon - Rock My Radio
Marót Viki / Nova Kultúr Zenekar - A Tranzisztor Kor Hajnalán
The Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star
    George Harrison - Devil's Radio
Scissor Sisters - **** On The Radio (NSFW)
    Perry - On The Radio
    Bruce Springsteen - Radio Nowhere
Brother Firetribe - Heard It On My Radio
Boris Novković - Dok Svira Radio
    The Firm - Radioactive
    Gene Simmons - Radioactive
Stan Bush / Barrage - Crank That Radio
Andi Deris / Bad Bankers - Don't Listen To The Radio
Fate - Man Against The Wall
Rage - Paint The Devil On The Wall
Mike Oldfield ft./Roger Chapman - Shadow On The Wall
Domain - Crack In The Wall
Skew Siskin - If The Walls Could Talk
Freak Kitchen - Walls Of Stupidity

I hope she gets the message. If you think of a better song(s) for the purpose, let me know.
And here is the traditional photo cover for the mixtape.
