I want the NM to go back to those costumes and retire the uniforms.

I always thought those were great costumes for the NM, particularly Magma and Magik.

Yeah, some of them are a bit dated, now, but I loved them in the eighties. It would be nice if a new wish took them as inspiration.

I don’t like any of those costumes, but I agree that the NM should ditch the training uniforms for individual fits.

Their Age of X looks are great, use those.

I love the pink masks. I’d give them a function as to act as a shield to Psychic interference. My favorite is Karma’s as it is a throwback to her original appearance. I agree they may be slightly dated. But an artist could simply modernize them.

The always Uncanny Rob Liefeld had some awesome New Mutant concepts. Shame they didn't came to light.

Thanks for sharing, I'm a sucker for unused character designs! I'm also a fan of Rob's New Mutants/X-Force and find it interesting to think Magma and Magik might have been part of his X-Force line-up at some stage... although those costumes are admittedly awfully generic and uninspired.

I have to say, I enjoyed the stories at that time, but I was never a fan of Rob's art. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying I didn't like it.

His work is a bit hit or miss. It's kinda like distorted caricatures of people often.

I liked those costumes back in the day. They were individualized, but was clearly a team with the white in the center. I always loved Sunspot’s vest/shirt of this costume.

Wow thanks for those! Rob's art is what it is and he's kind of annoying himself (heh), but he was actually pretty good at designs. His Cable, Deadpool, Stryfe, and Shatterstar looks are pretty iconic. To this day, those characters never veer too far from those original designs. And his Cannonbal costume was a winner too.
