I like both, although the blue one obviously fits Shadowkitty very well.

I was also a big fan of Salvador Larroca's X-Treme X-Men designs, I think everyone from Bishop to Rogue to Storm looked great, in a sort of post-90s/Jim Lee mixed with more modern sensibilities kind of aesthetic.

    Absolutely absolutely absolutely agree.

    Ditto.

Even more: I loved this kind of silly clothes Bogdanove briefly gave her in FF vs. X-Men. It's like a self-parody of superhero uniforms.

Rogue’s hair peaked during the Outback X-Men era under Silverstri. Reaching maximum hairband awesomeness under the demonic influence during Inferno...

On the topic of ROGUE costumes, I’m surprised artists haven’t tried combining the crop top shirt length with the striped tunic hoodie look. Could be her best blended look EVARR....similar to Alan Davis’ design for SAGE (below)

For RACHEL GREY SUMMERS, in the absence of my personal design being uploaded, I’d go with a mix of her looks for her best. Start with Alan Davis’ “Phoenix Girl” look from House of M (center) make it black and RED (instead of green) and layer on the so-called Turkey duster coat from her pre-Prestige period. And then mix in the Phoenix wing energy cape look for the jacket when our gal gets powered up in a fight...
But I’ll revisit the subject with my design eventually.

Quirkily enough, the higher the level the MORE formal the uniforms became instead of the original trope of students “graduating” to individual costumes.

Really wish I could have seen were Liefeld was heading with this. I think the blonde girl was either Magma or a new character named Cougar. And the girl with the sword was Magik I believe?

Pretty sure that’s Amara/Magma (Cougar was a male character concept from everything I’ve seen)

and yep that’s ‘Yana in a design that ultimately went to Domino. Interesting to see costumeconcrpts that never made it to print (Rusty, Skids etc).
I still say Liefeld has his flaws and limitations but at the time, he was the visual shot in the arm the franchise needed.

PAD's X-factor costumes aged very well.
Stroman did a really good job:

    Best Havok costume ever:

I’d like to see other artists play with Dan Panosian’s JEAN GREY design for “X-Factor Forever” series. It’s a deft combination of the lines of the Marvel Girl (neckline, retro glam gloves)and Phoenix designs (pendant belt sash homage)with the material of the Quitely era functional outfit.

With a little push, I feel that the design pushes the envelope past the “New X-Men” look...but keeps Jean Grey in her superhero timeless downtown glamor girl look.

Why does that have the JGS logo on it? The school didn't take that name until Wolverine took it over, after Jean's death.
