Then I guess I'm the only one, since I really liked the JRJR version.

I'm also a fan of Rachel's mystery combatant from Alan Davis' Excalibur:

For short******d looks that could have stuck around for Rachel...
I’ll take a red version of her “House of M” look by Alan Davis or a more sensible cut of her Milo Manara outfit from the “X-Women” one shot.
Hell, layer the turkey duster on top of it and it’s a badass look.

Long before X-Force, Steve Lightle gave us a Stealth Wolverine suit in Marvel Comics Presents that is a One shot Logan lewk that coulda stuck around longer. Swap out the purples (too “Hawkeye”) with organic tan/brown leather.

I never understood why Rachel would want to relive through her attire a tragic time in her life where she was brainwashed and forced to hunt down her family. Face tats and spikes are distinctive and unique but they'd be the last thing I'd wear if I were her. Though the current look is my favorite.

Really digging the fanart redesign for Jean by Lucas Remoussin .
It works as an adult update of the Teen Jean look from X-Men:Blue and her solo series... it’s a happy medium of past looks.

I really liked this look for Rogue. But I really liked that JRJR was giving her different looks. She was still a teenager, and I got that he played up that she liked changing up her look contently. Plus she has better style than Kitty.

Rogue already had a green brand color, Kitty was a mess and didn't lean into blues until too late.

Really? I hated his aesthetic for her. She and her fashions were ugly until Silvestri redefined her

Back to she for whom this thread is titled...Artist Valerio Schiti revealed some preliminary designs for Kitty when she was featured in the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

Though I think #2 was the right one to make the final cut, theres something to be said for #5 (which Schiti names as one of his faves as well). The flowy harem style pants remind me of her marital arts gi suited sky dancing she did back in the KITTY PRYDE AND WOLVERINE miniseries that introduced her Ninja-ness.

Eh. Almost everything was fine, but I wasn't a fan of the over-sized sweater version. If it had been a poncho, it might have improved things a bit:
