Ok then you can take Cable off the list haha.
Cable has had a lot of looks and his character has evolved too. For example in the late 90s he was a little bit slimmer and was showing a more softer side. But a lot of his costumes still gravitate towards the Liefield shoudler straps, ammo belts, and the big X strapped right in the middle of his chest.

I enjoyed his art circa end of New Mutants/first few X-Force issues - then it went kind of downhill from there and never recovered. But I do love his enthusiasm and like him as an idea-man/editor/publisher: his Extreme books left a lot to be desired quality-wise but he often surrounded himself with talented veterans and newcomers, and to this day I mourn the loss of his Awesome Comics which really ticked a lot of boxes for me in terms of books/creative teams.

I generally don't criticize artists' work, because I can barely draw stick figures, so no matter what someone else's work looks like, it's better than what I can do.
That being said, there was always something about his work that I just couldn't get into.
Rob Liefeld art stint benefitted most by being a follow up to a period where the New Mutants suffered from a more juvenile portrayal than in their history and saddled with an attempt at individualized costumes that could fairly be described as adequate and uninspired. Magik fared best, with Mirage behind her. Sunspot’s consistent love of a bodycon deep V neck shirt was also an appreciated character touch.
The Blevins/Birdboy era of New Mutants is my least favourite. I distinctly remember buying those issues and reading just once...out of habit and with zero interest.
Lord Ewing *Praise His name! Uplift Him in song!* Your divine works will be remembered and glorified in worship for all eternity. Amen!
I read them more than once, but they're definitely my least favourite. Blevins is a really good artist, but the decision to go with such a cartoonish style, given what came before, really hurt the series. (Not as much as the writing, though.)
Agreed on Blevins and Simonson both, I'm definitely not a fan of either (loved Weezie as X-editor though!). I think Bob Harras had already taken over as X-editor at that stage? I can't believe he let 2 of his best-selling titles (X-Factor and New Mutants) suffer under the sub-par artwork of Bogdanove and Blevins respectively for so much time.
Blevins isn't sub-par, issue 49 was fine, it was the direction of making the characters seem like little kids that was the problem.
