She switched for story reasons. That change was indicative of Mesmero controlling her and she got rid of it once she was free of him following the Dark Rachel Saga

STORM: The battledress variation of the classic Rounded cape designer by Kris Anka, paired with the long Mohawk/Mohican hairstyle, brings all of the classic and modern elements together for me.
I MIGHT add the over the thigh high boots from the Salvador Larocca (via Emma Frost) design for Ororo during her visit to the Morrison/Quitely Xavier Institute. They give an extra Goddess POP!

Anka's designs for Uncanny X-force were very good.

Especially Betsy's costume. That had nothing from the 90's.

Anka's designs for Ororo and Betsy were perfection itself and suited both characters very well in my opinion. I wish they used his Shadowcat costume as well.

Which Kitty by ANKA? I quite like BOTH.
The blue one is a fan recolor of the Psylocke sketched look, I believe.

Favorite WOLVERINE: X-Men Evolution animated original suit. The Silhouette of the Byrne brown and tan/orange suite remixed with sexy blacks. And side- pectoral peek-boo intact.

    Rogue:

It's simple, kind of casual, yet not too street-clothes-y.

Also, it's the John Romita JR era look, and that's one of my favourite X eras, and the period I liked her best.

The hair always ruined that outfit for me.

Should never see the light of day again. I had never seen it before but racially suggestive is the first thing that crossed my mind instantly as I glanced over the scan...

Yeah me too, 80s hair was odd to me as a young kid, I still haven't got used to it
    She looks better here

NIGHTCRAWLER: Carlos Pacheco’s Excalibur revamp of Kurt took the classic Cockrum design and added dimension and MOVEMENT.
To dramatic swashbuckling effect. Plus SWORDS!

Rogue’s fauxhawk was badass. Before she turned into a generic bombshell.

The problem is, it's a badly dated mullet.

Another vote for this design of Nightcrawler. I agree it succeeded where other designs failed, but it was still held back by oh-so-90s belts and padding. Kurt's silhouette is so unique amongst the X-Men that adding to it might seem overkill, but the poncho/chlamys was a genius dramatic choice. I wish they'd evolved this look rather than the continuous returns to the Cockrum suit.
