I hope he is a comforting, understanding Father to Barbara like in those drawings from Shannon Tindle.
Plus a hardnose cop. And a detective that can at least keep up with what's going on without being clueless.

Jim Gordon's time as Batman made it to the imaginext line of "DC Super Friends" along with "Rookie" (though you can't put Jim inside of Rookie).
