    Default Queen's Shadow

Anybody read this? It's a new Padme novel that deals with her transition from Queen to senator between TPM and AOTC.

I've heard it deals with her romance with Rush Clovis from the Clone Wars show, as well as having a substantial role for Sabe, the handmaiden/decoy played by Keira Knightley in TPM.

They're coming out with a prequel, Queen's Peril, which will detail Padme becoming Queen, the handmaidens, Panaka and the early stages of the Trade Federation's blockade. (Darth Maul and Cloak of Deception previously had this place in the continuity, although neither focused on Padme).

Been reading this. It's a bit slow in a couple ways (especially after reading Master & Apprentice). It focuses a bit on Sabe (The former Decoy queen) as well. It also reveals that Breha Organa-Leia's foster mother-has some cyborg organs which might explain why she couldn't have a child (and also might be a slight parallel to Vader). The storyline also of course ties in a bit with the current Darth Vader storyline, but with that story delayed I wonder how that will play out.

Also kind of find it interesting how many background players in TPM became fairly big actors later one when you look into the novel's characters. Sabe was played by Keira Knightley of course, but her co-worker, love-interest Tonra was played by Richard Armitage. Add to that Sally Hawkins as an extra and Dominic West as another Naboo guard.
