When has Circe been shown as sympathetic? She seems more like a wild card at best.

In Messner-Loebs's run she goes incognito to ambush Wonder Woman, though she forgets shes a villain, she has a child and then, from what I recall, she helps her at the end against White MAgician. In Rucka's run she fights Wonder Woman because Wonder Woman has her daughter.

Oh yes! That's right. That was one of the very things I enjoyed about Messner-Loebs' run.

"Diana...you're my only friend...."

And then Circe appears.

From a certain PoV, it's a really sad moment because it doesn't say good things about someone when they really don't have any friends.
