    Dear DC fandom,

DC have decided to cancel Doomsday Clock as Geoff John's story does not align with our current management of our comic book universe. We've also decided to retcon Rebirth and will relaunch the New-52 with each cover celebrating the death of your favourite characters in the most gruesome ways with a special lenticular edition featuring Wally West.

    Dan Didio

    Why stop there?

In addition, DC will send its army of parademons to invade the homes of each person who has bought copies of DOOMSDAY CLOCK. The copies will be destroyed in front of the owners' faces, all electronic devices bearing digital copies will be destroyed, and the hands that downloaded or bought the comics will be amputated violently...without benefit of anesthesia. Owners will then be administered a mind-altering drug that will erase all memories that DOOMSDAY CLOCK ever existed.

Johns is pretty pathetic and should be ashamed, but has no accountability and a complete lack of respect for the fans or other creators

And then Dan will unleash Superboy Prime from the mail room of DC and order him to Infinite Crisis punch all those who mocked the head honcho of DC... But Prime has other ideas...

I think DC should take accountability and not Geoff... Both Johns and Frank are both compotent creators and no way would a series take this long to release without editorial interference.

I also feel that Geoff lost a considerable amount of power at Warner Bros thanks to Justice League and Batman v Superman.

I thought the reasoning why he stepped down from being CCO for the comics in the first place was to moreso focus on the TV and Film departments. He co-wrote Aquaman, Wonder Woman 84, The Batman, and Green Lantern Corps, and it still producing many of the upcoming films, and that's not to mention the DC Universe series like Titans, Doom Patrol, and Stargirl where he's very involved.

Outside of Doomsday Clock and Three Jokers, which are finished writing wise and just waiting on when DC actually wants to release them, his only other ongoing is Shazam, which is another passion project of his for obvious reasons.

It is literally that Frank is taking his sweet time. There's no other reports otherwise. The story's already written.

    No way. It's editorial interference.

    How have they interfered?

Trust me man, I love to blame Didio for stuff. But this was entirely on Johns and Frank to get done. They had control of this thing, to the point where they could basically ignore anything else going on just for their story. That's rare control that usually means editorial isn't influencing it much.

Are you assuming this, or is there any actual, quotable proof from knowledgeable sources of this being the case?

It's easy to blame the artist, especially somebody like Frank who is known for meticulous work that takes time. But, unlike writers who can grind out multiple pages of script in a day, you can't rush the art and still have a quality product. If there are any delays / changes in getting a final script/work order to an artist on a project, you can't expect that artist to do their share of the work in a much shorter period of time just to make up for delays elsewhere.

How are artists paid anyway? Do they get a percentage of the sales? Do they get paid according to how many pages they've drawn?

I'm assuming it depends on the artist, the company, and whatever agreement/contract they have.

Except Gary Frank has already said he's not the reason the issues keep getting delayed. And besides, if it was him, they don't really have a reason to keep that a secret because then people would be more understanding and allowing it to take its time. The fact that they haven't been saying anything, shows that there is a high probability there's some kind of editorial interference, that's resulting in delaying the conclusion.

We really don't know what the reasons are for the delays. We can and will speculate.

The book was moved from a monthly to a bi-monthly distribution and kept that up until the last few issues. The latest issue has had numerous weekly delays and the next is suffering from the same week here, week there delay "schedule". Those are facts.

We're led to believe that Doomsday Clock is the culmination of the events started by the Rebirth special. The return of missing characters and missing years seems to be a big part of the 12 issue series. If this result is that big, common sense dictates it SHOULD have been written and defined long before the stretch of final few issues. But is the plan that was written for DClock still the plan DC wants to go with? It has been three years since the special and an initiative that affected the entire line may not be as defined or fitting for the direction the company is taking.

    So we're wondering WTF.

I also wonder if that set point for when the Legion and the JSA get to be used again accounted for all these delays.

I had neglected to mention the supposed date at which the LSH and JSA could be reintroduced, supposedly independent of the DClock status. Is this an actual fact, or is this only a conjecture? There have been Dr. Fate and Hawkman stories around so there would be other threads to either untangle or bring together (based on your opinion of the situation).
