Cates is not a bad writer but his style is not what I imagine for Silver Surfer, ugh.

Yeah, not entirely sold that Cates is the best suited writing-wise for this. I’ll give it a shot though.

to be honest what concerns me more (no pun intended) is the artist. I am not a fan of his previous work and after Allred (whose art i detested, surfer looking like a cartoon character with no sense of power or majesty) I am starting to lose faith in whomever is choosing the artists for his books. Give me the old days of Lim or Kirby artists that seemed to truly understand surfer. I enjoyed some of the painted artwork from the 2000s mini series but I just can't get behind this style of art with surfer. It is a shame cos I have a complete surfer run until Allred came on board

I can't say I'm all that happy it's more Cates, as I didn't like his Thanos run, but it's Surfer, so I will be there

Don't know much at all about Cates, but I'm always down for more Silver Surfer. I'll give this a spin, see how it goes. Tradd Moore is a good fit for this kind of SS joint.

This looks too alien Gray for me
It is at least better than his recent run which I thought was horrible
