Except most of those people aren't hardcore fanatics. They need their long tail of followers, and those followers are prone to give up if they get sufficient pushback. And once the hardcore group gets a setback, they are really prone to infighting.

We could see that with the Sad and Rabid Puppies with the Hugo awards. Earlier the alt-right had run roughshod all over the video game industry, but once they hit a real mass movement with a semblance of organisation, they were shut down hard, and started to move to other areas, like comics.

Frankly, Alan Horn handled the Gunn-complainers all backwards. By giving in to them, he simply gave them more confidence and influence.

From what I get, Feige has been hustling behind the scenes to get Gunn back. You can imagine his luck, "First Perlmutter...now Horn...Do I have to take over Disney to get away from idiots? I mean I guess I could do it."

I'm happy that mr Gunnis coming back, that was simply stupid. As it was the whole war on CM. What pissed me off is that both extremist parties put thing in way that no one is allowed to like or dislike or even worst not care about anything.

It seems rare lately, but it's really good to see justice prevail outside of the movie theater or novel or comic book. Even if it is just the very small win of a movie director getting to make his movie.

Good for you, Gunn! This whole situation never should have happened in the first place. Glad he's back.

Why is that worth a worry? Disney knows what it made. Its out of their control now.

I'm glad he's back, this franchise needs him.

And who would love to see Hepzibah and Corsair plus Silver Surfer in this new movie?

Nah, I just want to see the Adam Warlock thing finished off. Do that and I don't need the Surfer or pappa Summers.

I mean, a hint or a namedrop or tiny cameo would be fine. But I'd rather see GotG3 finish it's own story, far more than I want to see it bring in new characters just as the trilogy wraps up.

Besides, the script is worked out and I dont want them taking the time to re-write it just so they can include some properties from Fox, which they technically dont even have yet (unless the merger was fully finalized and I missed it?). Plenty of time in the future to fold those characters into the MCU, no need to start with a film that's as far along, story-wise, as this one. Put those Fox characters in Eternals, yknow?

Now i wonder how he's gonna mess up the Nova Corps this time.

Any concerns on the Nova front? I’d hate to see Gunn ruin the Novas any further.

I was pumped when Feige mentioned Nova had immediate potential but Gunn’s humor I find rather cheesy and low brow. What concerns me is more marvel movies are injecting some ill-timed and puzzling humour( starlord imitating Thor & dr strange commenting on Starks ice cream flavour in the middle of a serious conversation in Infinity War, Thor spinning in circles threatening Surtur in Ragnarok...). I fear they will begin to dilute the dramatic impact of the movies with comedy bits thrown over relying in the GOTG formula.

I'm dreading the MCU version of Adam Warlock to be honest.

I have already written my concerns about that.

I don't think Feige and co. understand what makes Adam Warlock appealing. Most MCU heroes are mostly good at two things: quipping and mugging for the screen before quipping some more. It's almost like the villains are antagonists only because the heroes stole the screen time from them.

Jim Starlin's Warlock isn't that. He's a brooding character that deals with religious satire, trippy metaphysical stuff and the line between sanity and insanity. They already turned Thor from a wise, mythological warrior who talks with a poetic dialect into a goofy fratboy who happens to be a strong alien. I don't want to see another one of my favorite Marvel heroes being turned into a joke.

No, I really don't care as long as the movie is entertaining.

As someone who first encountered Thor in the Norse mythology and poems, he doesn't strike me as a wise, mythological warrior who speaks in a poetic dialect at all. The goofy fratboy is arguably a lot closer to the Thor found in stories like Þrymskviða or Hymiskviða.

Nevertheless, MCU Thor Is closer to 616 Hercules than 616 Thor.

Neil Gaiman pointed out when he did Thor, Loki and Odin in Norse Myth that he got letters from some saying he was making fun of Marvel while others commended him for being truer to history with a red-headed Thor who was a dimwit.

And you need some kind of affable earthiness to sell the idea of an actual mythological being just another dude in the avengers, rather than all of them dropping down and worshipping him.

My only concerns about a MCU Nova is if it'll happen anytime in the near future and whether they'll use my man Richard or go with Sam (who is cool and all, but not who I really want to see). But the standard MCU formula will serve both Rich and Sam well, since they're both quippy.

Gunn changed up the Corp, but there's plenty of ways to shift a Nova film back onto familiar ground. Just say that the Corps all used the Nova Force, but after Thanos' attack there's only one guy left and that Nova now channels the whole force himself. Boom; you got your superhero Nova. Problem solved.

I can definitely understand that. And looking at films like Dr. Strange I think you've got cause for concern, not to mention the tone Gunn has used for his films, which isn't likely to change just to accommodate Warlock. I'm not a big fan of the character though so I dont have any skin in the game.
