Oh god, I didn't realize that between the Vulcan/Deathbird spawn and Lilandra and Xavier's test tube baby Xandra, just how big the family tree had grown
And from Xavier you get Greymalkin, Legion, Xavier Jr from BotA.

Xavier Jr's mom was Mystique. And she brings the whole Darkholme/Wagner/Creed family with her.

I've been wondering

Should children born of mutants have mutations that counter or provide them an immunity to, or even a boost to their parents powers?

From an evolutionary angle it would be a must, surely

A Rogue and Gambit child being born or developing a skin that is resistant to energy transfers and pressures

Magma - Heat and pressure tolerance

Colossus or Rockslide mutations make me think that a child could/should nullify their parents power, similar to Leech, while very young then maybe develop a symbiotic or boosting mutation at puberty (if they develop a mutation)

Ruby Summers could be an existing example


The next generations of mutants would have some serious immunities and tolerances, another concern for Marvels humans

I guess it's because once you make them omega TK / TP, Scott's powers become a bit irrelevant.

I mean, Scott is powerful, but when you're Nate Gray, having eye beams is not going to give you much.

This is late but point 3 & 2 kinda hold true in Invincible since there is a 5 year time skip in the story at that point.

Agree! Totally my headcannon on the immunity and also has been demonstrated in a few cases I can think of.

And there are definitely a few cases now of sibs at least that boost or combine abilities (Fenris, Manon and Maxime).

Very fun stuff to explore!
