About the same, I've never been a huge fan of either, but if a movie looks good I'll go see it and if a TV series looks good I'll give it a chance. I would probably say the things I've enjoyed the most came from Wars, but the things I hated the most also came from Wars so it balances out.

    Both and neither...

Depends on the movie or the show

Exactly. It's more cerebral and offers more food for thought. Which explains why the only SW films I liked are The Phantom Menace and the Last Jedi. I also like the concept behind The New Republic.

Used to like both. Now I don't like what they are doing with either one. I guess now I am an The Orville person.

I like both. When I was a child I thought Trek was incredibly boring but as I've grown older I've come to appreciate it much more. I think they both serve different aspects of my sci-fi interest.

Recently I've started getting really into Babylon 5, Farscape, and Cowboy Bebop as well.

Star Wars since I was 12, but I never liked the EU books much.
Contrary to popular belief, I love the sequels.

Those plus Firefly. Really sad it only had one season.

That's because Star Trek is more sci fi, where Star Wars is galactic fantasy.
Mind you, the Vulcans were quite mystic.

    Star Wars.

Never even seen an episode of Star Trek, let alone a film.

interesting answers guys, thanks. Star Wars can be lots of fun visually, but it never made me think or feel deeply like Star Trek does with its characters and stories.

I feel Trek is more diverse and deep in story and characters. So much more open-ended. Star Wars movies seem more formulaic and repetitive to me (Death Star), but I do love how visually creative they can be.

I also think both have incredible music/scores, but for my $$, Trek also wins in this department. Its music is bold and timeless, and they have lots more different themes than SW.

The Star Wars movies are children's movies (which is not to say they're not suitable for other demos, just that that's who they are primarily made for). Trek was made with an older audience in mind.

I agree with that, though even as a young child (about 8 or 9 years old), I found the original Trek TV series more interesting than the original Star Wars movies.
