I would want them to mirror the actual comics so start with the O5, introduce lorna and havok. The bring on the giant size xmen. I think this would be the best way to start.

Ultimate X-men was a good mix of O5 and Claremont's Giant Sized lineup with a modern twist. Let that be the inspiration

Morrison X-Men with Cassaday costuming and the TAS cast

I think the initial Claremont-era might be a good and somewhat safe and balanced choice. People use Giant-Size as the example of that, but I'm talking the lineup that actually stuck until DPS which is plus Jean and minus Thunderbird/Sunfire. TAS cast is a bit too crowded for a movie.

Literally made these teams up off the top of my head. Do something wild and new.

Among the ones listed though, Ultimate and ANAD teams are the best *whistles*

Honestly, Morrison uses some very unique but crowd pleasing characters who have largely been absent from the acreen. Of course, it still needs to be finely edited and changed, so what if we do Morrison with some Claremont mixed in.

They don't need to glut the line, like in the books. Keep a core cast.

I have no interest in the TAS version at all.
