I've only read the early chapters of Saint Seiya rather than watched them but I think his initial speed feats vastly outstrip anything Kenshiro does in his first episode.

I'd say it depends on speed feats for Ep1 Ken. By the end of the first episode, Seiya had shown he could survive hits from a Silver Saint, went slightly above Mach 1, and could easily break stone with a punch.

EDIT: Just saw Nik's post, doesn't seem that Ken has the speed feats for it then ^^.
