Not too surprising considering all the disasters going on at EA. That said I'm not sure if Disney will be able to keep the game studio afloat.

    Buy out Bioware and/or Blizzard.

    Boom!

    Instant studio.

Also, if you read the article, they are not bringing back LucasArts but LucasFilm Games.

That being said, Disney killed Black Rock, WFRR, WDCS, and a couple other studios over the years. I wouldn't put much faith in Iger knowing what to do without hiring a new person that knows games.

I'm happy we're going to see LucasArts/Films on games again, but it's going to be a different entity ultimately.

Different people, different culture. This happens with any team eventually, admittedly, but killing off and then reviving a studio speeds up the process.

Hopefully they make some good games, and maybe get a chance to revive some non-star-wars properties.

I suppose its a potential step in the right direction. Lots more things having to happen in order though for me to get excited.

They probably don't need to buyout Blizzard. Activision laid off 800 employees recently and 200 of them came from Blizzard. Disney could scoop up the Blizzard talent for this company.

This is, quite literally, fake news. Lucasfilm Games is the team at Lucasfilm that's been working with EA on Star Wars games for years now! LucasArts ain't back, guys

Kind of seems a bit like when Lucasfilm labeled all Star Wars books "Lucasbooks" although they weren't published directly by Lucasfilm.

If you read the article, it says LucasFilm Games ... not LucasArts. I think the TC just got overly excited.

And yet he was happy to take EA's money and have Kennedy dissolve Lucasarts.
