Both sides aware what the other team of 5 can do.
You compare the Collectors to a five man unit that at least trained together.
Star Wars stuff only counts before the late 2012 Disney sale. Feats added after and units / characters created after do not count.

Really comes down to whether or not the Collector weapons and armor are of any use against Star Wars equipment, and vice versa. Collectors don't really show any awesome skills or powers, they don't have special tactics, etc. They got away with what they did by having a ship loaded to the gills with Reaper tech, choosing soft targets (colonies), and deploying a bio-weapon that would pretty much shut down said colonies nigh-instantly, allowing them to easily 'assume control' (haha) without worrying about distress calls going out.

If we’re ignoring the advantages that Harbinger and Seeker Swarms provide, then 5 Geonosians should be about on par with 5 Collectors.
