Congratulations to ed2962 for a marvelous cover which truly showed the power of both Doom, and the advantages of our beloved media.

This week, the captain has been reminded that comic books have been a power fantasy for many of us. Even to those dreaming of being Archie Andrews and having two women fighting over us, they are filled with characters who do miraculous things and who live interesting lives. A seminal (yes, I fell asleep reading Claremont last night) display of power is breaking pout of your surroundings and for a comic book character, that's breaking through the cover. Simple and basic, yes, but, effective. Just don't put any wrinkles in them, OK?

Thanks go to Ravin' Ray and Kirby101 for their votes. I loved this week as so many actually got votes and a supposedly iconic cover ;like my selection fell into a plethora of similarly iconic images. Way cool contest this week.

LOL missed voting in my own contest.
Great choices, was worried there wouldn't be enough, thought all the Giant Size X-Men #1 homages out there would steal this, yet everyone found some great and surprising covers.
Joe Palooka brought back out of obscurity was a delight to see.
Thanks all who participated' and kjn , Iron and Maiden CaptCleghorn for the thematic videos, always fun (yes CaptCleghorn English being my second language, the interchangeable spelling of tears and tears always baffled me)

    And Congratz ed2962 !

Also winner for most surprising cover omitted has to go to Superman #9

Also not that anyone asked, but cover is a classic Alex Toth Illustration re-purposed for several over-seas Zorro collections.
