    Default The Button storyline

Curious about where all this storyline appears in.

    Obviously
    Rebirth Deluxe
    The Button

And it leads all to Doomsday clock, but did other books touch on this subject, are they worth a read?

The Button is barely worth the read if you aren't reading Batman or Flash. It doesn't really tie into Doomsday Clock in any substantial way, and the only books that touch on it are the Batman or Flash threads that lead out of it.

Agreed with the above, but if you are referring to interference from Dr. Manhattan there was a loose tie in in JLA issues 15-17/18 with Ray Palmer being in the microverse. It was eluded that Manhattan was the one that was causing disturbances.

Has there been anything in Doomsday Cluck that references this arc (at least in terms of aspects that weren't already presented back in 2016's DC Universe: Rebirth one-shot)?

When Manhattan shows up for the first time, Batman acts like he recognizes him, which is supposed to be a reference to remembering he was the one who killed Reverse-Flash. Also Saturn Girl in the asylum shows up at the beginning and Jay Garrick has a quick cameo and they're both playing/gonna play some kind of a role in DClock.

But yeah, honestly at the moment The Button is moreso important to Tom King's overall Batman story than the actual Doomsday Clock story.

yep ultimately it was a stalled investigation that led them to nowhere in particular but led to more questions. morever the reason for the button appearing in the batcave was never explained neither in this storyline nor in DC till now. what the button signifies apart from the obvious intersection of the watchmen's universe with DC has also never been elaborated upon till date.

Oh so it's not related to Doomsday clock.

I own collect tpbs so haven't read DDC yet...

I got the first to flash rebirth volumes but hated them...

Haven't yet picked up a Batman volume yet but rebirth has disappointed me for wonder woman, and flash, and superman... but love what was in action comics.

Just collected my first green lantern book...

May skip the rest of rebirth and see what these new DC Universe books are like...

When DOOMSDAY CLOCK is collected together, I hope THE BUTTON is included in the mix too just to see how the whole thing reads in context. In fact, the overall package should include REBIRTH, THE BUTTON, as well as the proper issues of DOOMSDAY CLOCK.

I strongly suspect the timing of Button was to cash in on the 21, 22 numbering of the original Cris story in JLA.

Like the other sayd, it's not worth reading.
But yes it is somewhat realated to Doomsday Clock.
If you want the full storyline:

    1. Watchmen
    2. Before Watchmen (optional)
    3. Superman: Lois & Clark
    4. Superman: The Final Days of Superman
    5. Titans Hunt
    6. DC Universe: Rebirth or DC Rebirth Omnibus
    7. Titans: The Return of Wally West
    8. Batman / The Flash: The Button (optional)
    9. Superman: Reborn
    10. Superman: The Oz Effect
    11. Detective Comics: A Lonely Place of Living
    12. Justice League of America: Panic in the Microverse
    13. Doomsday Clock

This thread makes me want to ask folks here if any of the Oz/"taking players off the board" stuff we saw in Detective (with Tim) and elsewhere has any direct correlation to Doomsday Clock/The Button. Do we know, for example, that "Oz" himself is alive thanks to a certain omniscient blue guy? Or was that connection all assumption (based on "Oz" being shorthand for a character whose name begins that way) on the part of fans?

Can't remember and I'm curious to know if I should be looking for any explanations in Doomsday Clock or comics to follow it or if it's an unrelated thing.

I did a re-read of The Button along with my re-read of Doomsday Clock and I think The Button comes off much better than it did the first time around, particularly in regards to setting up Batman's role in the larger story.

While you could certainly skip The Button if you wanted, I do think that it serves as a nice prelude. I'm planning on re-reading The Oz Effect soon. I have no idea if I will have a higher opinion of it as well.
