As much as I love Jono and think him aligning with the Morlocks during this time was brilliant, pretty much everything re: them seems really half-baked. Dumping the baby after a literal retread of the Mutant Massacre (and having not found the assailants yet) seems...so dumb.

I enjoy this book in the way that I enjoyed Scott's checklist...it's a rundown of fun people and things to revisit but it's not as cohesive as it should be.

They are somewhere between 10 - 12 years old and have a history of being kidnapped.

I thought the issue was okay. It seems a bit slow, but I'm fine with the tone and the overall feel of the book. This obviously feels like a buildup towards a relaunch, but it also feels like the X-men.

I'm quite curious as to what Rogers has to say.

Shan's rich. She's probably got the hidden away in some boarding school.

Didn't Rosenberg recently say that we were probably going to see Nanny and Orphan Maker?

Maybe the X-Men's laissez-faire attitude towards childcare is actually going to be a plotpoint

Cap: "Sooo... remember that nasty custody battle we had over your surrogate granddaughter and how we basically groomed her to beat you up and actively not try to make the world a better place? Yeah, she's going through some weird rebellious phase and sticking it real hard to the corrupt world order she once protected and it's obviously all your fault and you have to fix it yesterday."

Personally kinda dig the "lack" of cohesion. They Uncanny crew is supposed to be stumbling around in the dark not knowing what to do.

My only good-humored "gripe" is that you could remove every single Havok scene so far and it wouldn't change a single darn thing to the narrative, lol. Who knows, maybe he'll guilt-trip Scott into humoring Steve's request next issue?

    Mind. Blown. Lawl.

So, what, the Hellfire gals (jury's still out on real vs fake Emma) manipulate the competition into wiping each other out so they can play "saviors"?

    Sounds about right.

This makes me even more worried about how they might handle Emma now.

The previous writers didn't want to address their existence, so instead of killing them, they are put into limbo by being 'kidnapped'. Shan and her siblings are always being underused except during Zeb Wells run.

Shan can easily possess many people at the same time but this wasn't even used these past issues.

Her siblings also have latent mutant powers as shown when they were artificially aged.

Let's just say a rehash of the Mystique/Dazzler subplot from Bendis' run would be an almost-best-case scenario for Emma, right now.

give Shogo to a safe foster family of regular humans, be done with always wondering who's caring for him and holding Jubes back from being fun again

How is Rogers even making an appearance here? Guy is on the run from the authorities on a murder charge.
