    For Wonder Woman my favorite is easily The Legend of Wonder Woman. It's one of the best modern origin stories to date (I prefer it over her Year One).

    Superman Birthright is the best Superman story I've read to date, but the recent Man and Superman deserves to be read as a new classic too in my opinion.

    Most of the Batman stories I've read have already been mentioned. Batman Prey, Batman vs the Monster Men, and Batman vs the Mad Monk are worthy reads, don't think they were mentioned. I will note I prefer Zero Year over Year One as far as origins go. Blasphemy I know.

    Just stuff off the top of my head.

    I have a great fondness over Birthright considering it being the only Superman Origin I've managed to read but for the art and that end of the story when he tried to talk to his Parents.

    I would like to get a couple of stand alone batman stories though. Or just stand alones.

    What do you mean ? You'd like suggestion for standalone Batman stories ? or more widley, standalone DC comics.
    If that's the case, here are some:

    * Batman: White Knight
    * Shazam New52
    * Justice League: New Frontier
    * Batman: Year 100
    * Lobo: Portrait of a Bastich

    I've been a little off the wagon since early New 52, do you have any recommandations on what to read and what not to read since ?
    Thanks a lot, guys.

    Default Barry Allen return as Flash

    This looks like the perfect place for me to ask this!

    I stopped reading DC for the most part right after COIE, and lately I've been thinking about coming back in, slowly.

    Barry Allen was always THE FLASH for me.
    I know Crisis killed him off, part of the reason I stopped reading then, but since I've been looking back in lately, it appears he is BACK as The Flash!!

    So,if I wanted to pick up where he comes back, where would I start?

    I prefer trades, but if I can catch up on the monthly, assuming it is Barry Allen, I might jump on that.

    I appreciate any help you all can give me with this!!

    Thanks!

    Welcome.

    Weirdly Barry's returns first in Infinite Crisis by Geoff johns.

    From there its continued in Flash Rebirth by Geoff and the Ongoining at the time to Flashpoint.

    If not there, its better you go for the nu52 Flash by Manapaul alongside JL by Geoff Johns.

    Thank you for the info!

    I'm looking at that Infinite Crisis ( another Crisis?) and the free sample does not inspire me much.

    However, Flash Rebirth looks interesting, so I may start with that and see what's what.

    And of course, like so many older folks here, I do have the wonderful Archives and now Omnibooks of the old stories I can just reread like new as my memory fades away.

    Thanks again for that info, it is what I needed!

    Hi can anyone help me? I'm a huge Darkseid fan, and I have heard about the JLA Rock of Ages story as a good story where he is written well. I want to purchase it, I found it on Midtown Comics. https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/8123 and although Darkseid is on the cover, he isn't mentioned in the synopsis. It seems to focus on the JLA vs the Legion of Doom/Injustice Gang. Is this the correct book? I remember seeing a screenshot where Glorious Godfrey is giving an epic into before Darkseid arrives on earth. That's the book I am looking to purchase. Thank you.

    You dropped Flash and found Green Arrow Boring but you manage to read Dark Night: Metal and No Justice ??
    Anyways if you liked Dark Knight: Metal, you should continue with The Batman Who Laughs.

    If you like Teen Titans and characters dealing with shades of grey when crime fighting I recommend Adam Glass Teen Titans. All new cast of with original characters and some well known characters like Robin. I really enjoy it. It deals with the mortal aspects of dealing with crime permanently without killing and how far heroes should be willing to go.

    You should try The Green Lantern by Grant Morrison (start at #1).

    You can also read last year's Batman: White Knight and then the ongoing Curse of the White Knight by Sean Murphy.

    The Wonder Woman /Justice League Dark was good as well as the ongoing Justice League Dark.

    To continue, try The Terrifics it's terrificly good.
