    Default Reaper vs Phastasm

Which of these two mysterious skull-covered killer is better?

Which of the two would you want to be made into a bigger Bat-villain?

Personally, I think the Reaper has the MUCH more striking look, but the Phantasm has the MUCH more developed backstory.

Or could they be merged: Reaper with Phantasm's backstory? Phantasm with Reaper's backstory?

    What do you think?

    Poll forthcoming.

EDIT: Oh, for the love of ....Mods, can you please change my boneheaded (see what I did there?) misspelling in the title and poll from Phastasm to Phantasm?

I had a brain fart and voted Reaper when I meant to vote Phantasm, so subtract 1 vote from Reaper. Sorry.

Not skull themed, but I do enjoy the Wraith. He needs an updated costume, but could be a fun alternate take on Batman.

I’m honestly shocked we haven’t done anything with The Phantasm since the movie. I think she’d be a fascinating addition to Batman’s rogues gallery in the comics.
Books I’m pulling: Justice League Dark, Batman and the, Outsiders, Suicide squad, Daredevil, Tynion’s Batman, X-men, X-force, Marauders, Hellions, X-Factor, Three Jokers, Deceased Dead Planet

They definitely should bring her into the comics. Great design for a character and BM:MOTP was an awesome story. Would love to see her appearing in the books.

Mask of the Phantasm is a classic while Year Two was a good idea executed badly. Phantasm/Andrea all the way!

I'm partial to The Phantasm, but both have intriguing costume designs. But with the story she was given in the film, I think Phantasm deserves more notoriety and fanfare.

The Reaper has a great look, but so does The Phantasm and Phantasm is a much more substantial well-developed character, really perhaps the best executed Batman/Bruce foil (contrasting the protagonist) ever done. Of course not every Batman foil villain gets such a great team of writers and a nicely budgeted animated feature length production effort like Phantasm got.

And Mask of the Phantasm just happens to be the best Batman movie ever made (and likely ever to be made).

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

And since then, we also have had Abyss.

Boy, what a useless disappointment he turned out to be.

Phantasm is in one of the greatest Batman stories ever told and my favourite Batman movie.

Reaper... Looks very cool. I honestly never rated Year Two that highly but do feel that the sequel, Full Circle, works a lot better as a parallel to Batman's story.

I didn't read Williamson's Batman so have no real opinion on Abyss other than they remind me of Scorn, the apprentice to the abysmal New 52 version of Wrath. Anything that reminds me of New 52 Wrath is a negative.
"Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

"I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

"*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!
