I started reading DC Comics during the early 90s (Death of Superman, Emerald Twilight, AzBat, etc), and continued doing so until Infinite Crisis, and then sporadically until the New 52, after which I dropped most of the titles. Nowadays, I only read a few DC titles here and there, mostly out of habit, and keep going back to my 90s collection most often than not.

I've been reading mostly stuff between 1938 and 1994.

I’m currently reading the Pre-Crisis 80’s DC Comics. Specifically Conway’s and Moench’s Batman/Detective Comics run.

Mainly late 80s- mid 2000’s. My favorite period was the 90s with the Wally West Flash series, Starman, and later Johns JSA.
    AKA FlashFreak
    Favorite Characters:
DC: The Flash (Jay & Wally), Starman- Jack Knight, Stargirl, & Shazam!.
MARVEL: Daredevil, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), & Doctor Strange.

    Current Pulls: Not a thing!

I mostly read what has good praise.
And what has the most good praises are pre-Falshpoint stories.

But some post-Flashpoint stories are very good.
For exemple Aquaman got way better after Flashpoint.

As for Rebirth there are very good stuff too.
From the pre-crisis, as you say, what is easilly findable, reprinted and known are the good stories/series.
The bad from pre-crisis has now been forgotten for the most part.

I usually find myself drawn the most to Post-Crisis or Rebirth.

THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

I started my fandom right after Crisis (I mean, I was eight when that happened). I still buy about 15 titles, and right now I’m jumping into David’s Aquaman via DC Universe streaming. Just got done with the Doom Patrol leading up to Morrison and reread Infinite Crisis and all its tie ins. After Aquaman, I plan on starting with 90s Starman and doing that, JSA, Star and STRIPES and Hawkman, as I didn’t collect those from mid-late 90s.

Post-crisis is my favorite era. I think comics in general were at their creative peak around 1985 to 1995 or so. At least as far as storytelling. The silver and golden ages introduced a ton of really creative concepts, but the stories were mostly garbage.
