With all the references to the past and Cebulski referring to this as a next chapter in the history of the X-Men, I think it's more likely that this is some sort of "secret history of the mutants" stuff, like maybe Moira and Charles discovered some **** back in the day that was deliberately kept hidden until now or something like that. Feels like a big retcon is on the way.

Hickman's initial story being a "secret history" retcon was pretty much my thought as well based on the multiple eras and duplicate characters shown in the teaser. I'm apprehensive for the people getting excited thinking their favorite character is rejoining the X-Men or going back to an old look/powerset, when there's a good chance that is not the case. If anything, I'm thinking these 2 mini-series will be setting up the new status quo, and they'll probably be putting up another teaser for the new teams later this year.

Those are Illyana's magical abilities, not her mutant powers. Why Dani has them is anyone's guess.

Did not they say, I think in Galacta, Daughter of Galactus, that all the mutants were potentially reality warpers but that each manifested it in a different way?

That’s how I always see them honestly. I struggle to see how someone can hate mutants but not the other powered characters in the marvel universe makes it difficult to believe

A lot of people say this, but I always find this a funny perspective given prevalent this very thing is in the real world. Hate isn’t rational anywhere.

It is not something canon but I still think it could be a cool concept. What if Moira and Xavier discovered it and have been suppressing that information all this time? That could be the Powers of X.
