The stuff that makes me nervous about House of X is also what I like about it-
It takes risks and does weird stuff.

It's hard not to fall into patterns with long-running characters.
    Innovation requires risk.
    Jon's taking risks.
    Will it pay off?
I'm eager to read on and find out.

House of X #1 has big sweeping changes to mutantkind with top-notch artwork.

Excited and nervous to see where things go from here. That's what good serialized stories do - engage readers and create anticipation.

This was the best reaction I saw. So house of X seems like amjor departure from what we know about x-men. This might be even more groundbreaking than Morrison
This did seem like a fair review.

He gives the good, but noted some things had him questioning or uneasy. I liked this outlook. Compliments where compliments are due, but making note that some things can feel uneasy given what long-term writers & fans are used to.

Again, seems good. Hopefully story & characters will take a break from predictability & ruts they may have fallen into.

I love and appreciate that we seem to be getting the big "major shift/change" reveal in the very first issue...Rather than having to wait for it to be revealed later on when all elements are in play/place at the middle-end of the LS run of both books.
All indications say HiX-Man is hitting the ground sprinting at top speed.

Yep. This one is going to be divisive. Just like Morrison’s run.

While I agree with this statement whole heartedly, SOMETHING has to be done to bring these books back to the life they once had. But I'm enjoying the current story in Uncanny so I'm sorry to see it go by the wayside

While also complaining when they don't try something new and different.

I think they only accept change when the books have fallen to their absolute low, like the late 90s or now since the Terrigen Mist period

Problem is that each and every X-Fan has a different take on what makes sense.

X-Men fans only want power. The power to crush other franchises beneath their feet. It's sick.

What makes sense for some doesn't make the same sense for others. People can have different takes on subjects.

But the sweeping statement that X-Fans hate change feels very truthful.

and some people don't want change at all. they want the xmen to be a happy family that lives in the mansion and plays softball forever and ever. comfort food.
or shippers with their favorite couples. I prefer a cicle with beginning and end, nothing lasts forever,

Sometimes with long-running series with so many different chefs, the big changes have to make a little bit of a narrative departure. I hope Hickman's changes still keep the spirit most of us look for in the X-Men while still doing a drastic remodel.

The problem is that bad days and lack of hope far outweigh the good days.

Since decimation 80% of the stories that came after were based solely on an extinction cycle for the mutants. Where each event tries to overcome the old and failing miserably.

Let's be honest, what was the last time the X-men had any moral victory? All they did was simply survive one extinction after another.

I can count the number of X-men stories with happy endings in the last few years in just one hand. Frankly the X-men look more like a DC franchise than marvel in the last years of so gray or dark that it has become.
