I sort of want to see this, though, to be fair, the X-Men have this scenario come up every other month, so I feel like it won't be that big of a deal.

There's only so much you can do before you hit a point where you see it's not worth it. The X-Men worrying less about being accepted by the flatscans and more about building stuff for them and them only isn't that much of a stretch neither is it cowardly.

Agreed. It could very well be that trying, and dying, to get humans to accept them has been stunting the growth of mutants. They're again being killed in the streets and the government is trying to eradicate their kind with the vaccine. I say let them flee and allow them to evolve as they've been destined to do. Then perhaps they can consider coming back as an independent and stronger group.

Maybe we'll learn mutants are not the evolution of humans but something entirely different.

Evan was cloned from another kid Apocalypse who was supposedly the real one just deaged by Celestial nonsense. But Fantomex killed the first kid Apocalypse, so where did they dig up the current one?

With more and more pics/info coming out, I really wonder if all these new characters are clones with almagamated DNA from various characters. It seems like Hickman is going to make Mr. Sinister a large part of his story, and in his more recent appearances, Sinister seems to have mastered cloning (Kieron Gillen's run).

Also, there's a strong chance that the concept of accelerated time shows up in some form (re: Hickman's mention of Mike Carey's Supernovas run that features the "Children of the Vault" that were created with the concept + Hickman's past use of a similar concept for his "Children of Tomorrow" in his Ultimates run).

By combining cloning + accelerated time, it's possible to have new adult characters that have been appearing in the images without the need for alternate realities or time travel? Accelerated time would also allow fast environment growth, which may be useful/come into play for some previous revelations: Lush plants in mystery environment (images), Krakoa seeds (launch party celebrations only? [unsure if ever mentioned/referred to elsewhere])

In the background, there appear to be fingerprints, which interestingly have this fact (after a quick search): "Fingerprints are even more unique than DNA, the genetic material in each of our cells. Although identical twins can share the same DNA -- or at least most of it -- they can't have the same fingerprints."


Last thought: 2 large themes that have been synonymous with X-Men has been evolution + family (Hickman highlighted feeling part of family as a central theme). The passing down / combining of DNA via cloning + being able to perform this process in "reasonable time" via accelerated time would seem to be inline with these 2 themes.

Oh, nice tidbit! Seems like it would all fit together nicely, but I'm sure whatever the story really is, Hickman will throw some curveballs!

Can't wait for HOX/POX and the subsequent ongoing(s); loved Hickman's other Marvel works!
