Great cover. But damn, they're getting random now. Cyclops standing right at the top with Magneto & Apocalypse.

This could easy some worries though. Scott sure as Hell isn't a villain, so Emma fans may need not worry given how random this is. lol

Some people have different desires from fiction. There are those that want to read a book about characters they like and never want to see them go through true hardship. There's a reason why fanfiction is so filled with coffee shop AUs, why Friends and the Office are the most popular shows on Netflix.

That's not me. I'm fully onboard with my favorite characters going through hardship. I'm a Runaways fan and I believe part of the reason BKV's run worked is because he was relentlessly mean to them.

But, not everybody is interested in that.

Although, it does make you wonder why the fans of certain characters revere Claremont's run so much? ALL his characters have been pulled through the wringer, some more than once, excruciatingly.

I would say that it's not that they were put through hardships, and often, but the way those tests of strength, character and spirit were (better) written. Recent/Current writers just regurgitated those story lines and did so badly without any of the writing skill and finesse.
