The Last time Jonathan Hickman wrote a Marvel event, the Avengers "FAILED" To save the world and the Fantastic Four ended up saving the day. SO who knows if this will happen again in the X-men event where the Avengers ended up saving the day and the X-men "Failed" to save the world ?

I'd say it only shows that they plan to work with all X-Men mythology that fits their preconceived notions of which storylines and characters deserve use and respect, and that all storylines and characters they don't like or respect are going to get shafted regardless of actual worth. There's nothing in this indicative of Genosha, for example (at least that I see).

I'm expecting a retelling that better aligns with and reinforces their toxic nostalgia, hoping to get newcomers to blindly go along with it, rather than Marvel doing some real soul-searching for building on the good and correcting the bad within that history.

Not even George Perez would be capable of put all the references in X-Men Mythology in one poster.

Hickman did a great job to Sunspot and look, there's no reference here.

It's impossible to judge the story by a single image or bc your favorite character is not at it.

I'll agree avengers sorta became a mess, but his new avengers/illuminati run was amazing.

I’ve been avoiding the boards since that shitty marriage issue (other than a small post in the Gambit thread), but I think my problem with the current status quo is about to be solved. Hickman is someone with great creative vision and doesn’t rely on nostalgia to keep people interested. All that’s left is to do divorce Rogue and Gambit and I’ll start buying X-Men comics again!
