Default What happened to the Marvel short films?

I think the last one they did was All Hail the King after Iron Man 3. I thought these were really cool ways of continuing or bridging the films. Anyone know why they stopped making them?

I think they were mainly intended as DVD/Bluray extras, and Marvel is de-emphasizing physical media in favor of streaming (if not preparing to discontinue disks altogether, other than 4K).

Disney isn't incentivized to do them largely thanks to what @AndrewCrossett alluded too.

I think Marvel considers the upcoming mini series on Disney+ as successors to the shorts. Don’t forget that the first couple effectively set up the potential for Agents of Shield and Agent Carter.

the shows on Disney+ will be featuring the A list actors from the cinematic universe and they are believed to tie in directly to the MCU, unlike the other shows which reference things but don't really tie into the MCU.
