    Never.

For good reason no one has suggested a remake of Casablanca or The Godfather...same for the Star Wars films.

Just too many areas to explore and create from scratch now.

Well they are making a lot of live action remakes of their animated classics, and despite luke warm reviews they are profitable. It may not happen in my life time, but I wouldn't say never.

    The inevitable Disney Musical!

Princess Leia has her new big number, she's actually been repressing her powers, then breaks out in songs:
I can Feel the colors of the Force, and ...Let it flow.

LOL, true, that's pretty much what those are.

I think it will happen at some point, but it could be long after we're all dead and gone.

If Disney is still around, and they still own Star Wars, I bet the urge to remake the Skywalker Saga would be too strong to resist.

I think we'll see a prequel reboot before the OT.

Perhaps she can revisit this wonderful song:

I’d rather see them move forward. I accept the original films were made in the Stone Age and suffer from the limitations of the period. Create a truly epic series with modern casting and effects and I’ll be happy.

Suffer? I honestly don't see it.

Yeah, they've aged a lot better then other stuff from the same era, like the old Star Trek movies (and I'm saying that as someone who thinks those movies hold up really well in general).

The Star Trek movies apart from the first and recent films I think were fairly low budget compared to SW, although I think III and IV had some really good effects (the new ships and the animatronic whales). II, while the most classic, suffers a bit from it's use of stock footage from the first film.

    Fair enough.

The Klingon ships in the training scenario and the launch were taken from the first one. Don't remember anything else.

Not a movie reboot, but I'm surprised none of the star wars people have tried to make the original trilogy into a video game. I have fond memories of the old snes star wars and considering how popular they are it would seem like a no brainier. A lot of the new games have been new characters or story lines with the occasional reference to the OT.
