Who are the scariest Marvel villains?

I never really thought of any Marvel villains as being frightening, but I've been reading a lot of series on Unlimited and so far the scariest villains I have come across are:

Knull
Purple Man
Cassandra Nova
Carnage

What other Marvel villains would you guys add to this group?

I think those four are all scary in their own way.

Emplate and many of the others who are very selective about their targets and, at least, attempt to attack in secret.

Doctor Strange's bad guys aren't mentioned here for some reason:
-- Nightmare, the classical one, but the Ultimate version you see in Ultimate Spider-Man is also pretty terrifying.
-- Shuma Gorath
-- Gorr the God Butcher
-- Galactus (in the original story where he is still terrifying)
-- Kingpin in Born Again.
-- Doctor Doom in Unthinkable.

Purple Man, hands down.

Other villains will hurt or even kill you. Purple Man will rape you, your wife, your kids, your dog, make you join in, and MAYBE kill you afterwards.

I always thought that the Beyonders were pretty scary.

And yes, Purple Man is scary, but he just seems so not-ambitious. I mean, he stays pretty small scale.

Purple Man is overrepresented, imo. there are several other mind-controllers in the marvel universe. Purple Man's bad acts were all introduced in the Alias series so we'd take him seriously enough as Jessica Jones' nemesis. Mesmero, Mountjoy, Mandrill, Corruptor, and Controller could all do just as much damage. a minor character, Johnny Dee, caused complete havoc at the x-mansion by using his ability to control individuals through self-grown "voodoo dolls." i don't think that he's any less dangerous than Purple Man. he seemed to have no problem with murdering people (who could not fight back or resist him). he also weaponized the people that he controlled simply to create trouble. in general, i think the mutant mind controllers are far more malicious & active than Purple Man.
