While it's disappointing, I don't really find it surprising. X-men still have a film outside the MCU coming out this year, the ink is still wet on the Fox deal, and if they want to do this right I imagine it will take a good deal planning to make it go smoothly. Anything under 3 years was really optimistic.

As expected, but hey... plans change. Though I'm sure some of the more popular X-Men(Wolverine & Storm) will appear sooner than later in other films before the X-Men as a whole. Especially once some of those current Avengers are willing to walk away to pursue other projects.

while the movies are generally well received, the animated marvel stuff for the most part has been poorly done. I'm not I would want to see a cartoon version of the xmen under the current animation house. the live action portion though is a good question. if anything the live action probably wont happen until after Disney develops their own streaming service akin to hulu or Netflix.
