I vote for nx01a!
foxley and that great Johnny Craig cover...
...which was later on (in)famously swiped by Dan Adkins in Dr. Strange #169.
icctrombone for one i never heard about, +1
Shalla bal It is a good Avengers cover. and I realize now, no one posted a jane Foster cover.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
As soon as the contest was posted, the two physicians I had most expected to see were Dr. Jane Foster and Dr. Harlene Quinzell, and I was surprised that this didn't happen. Of course, in the world of funny books you just never know who will turn up as a medical professional (at least on an amateur basis!):
I am calling it as it is the alloted time.
My vote is for Shalla Bal 'cuz that's actually a superhero who's actually a doctor actually doing doctoring stuff and actually moving like a comic book guy doing it.
As for results, I have tallied the following.
With one vote apiece, the following pre-med students:
ed2962
icctrombone
PaulBullion
Speed Force League Unlimited
Tami
With 2 votes each, the following full-fledged medical students:
Ajax_X
Iron Maiden
kjn
Major Hoy 2
nx01a
worstblogever
And the internes with 3 votes each:
Shalla Bal
WestPhillyPunisher
And finishing first with four votes:
foxley
Congratulations, foxley. I will, as usual, comment and babble on later, but now my bed and I need to get together.
It was great that 14 people got votes this week. Spreading the wealth is a good thing.
Congrats to foxley! And thanks to everyone who voted for my offering!
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
Congratulations to Foxley, and thanks to Javasaurus and MajorHoy for their votes!
