Congrats to Foxley!
Wow! Thanks for the win, everyone. And thanks to Johnny Craig for the awesome cover.
New contest up some.
Congrats foxley!
That is such a straight tracing by Adkins, I wonder if it was more a tribute/Easter egg for EC fans.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congratulations foxley!
And thanks to Tami for the honorable mention!

It could very well be.
Adkins was a Wally Wood protege and I'm sure many of us here have read that famous WW quote about swipes ("never draw what you can swipe; never swipe what you can trace..."), so I guess it was just part of the way Adkins worked.
But when Adkins did some Marvel penciling work and used numerous swipes (not just in Dr. Strange, but also for example in the X-Men in which he used some Kirby art from just a couple of years earlier), evidently readers at that time, mostly in fanzines, called him out on it.

Yay, Foxley!

As for more knowledge, what has the captain learned this week? He has gotten a better understanding of what content many comics had. Just imagine, flying nurses on skis! But the medical field is rife with story content and a usually well-define villain with an occasional switcheroo.
Thanks to those who had faith enough in my selection ability to vote for me last week. And I am especially glad so many covers got votes. That bit of satisfaction is important (to me, anyway) and it makes us all feel a part of the fun.
