Default How do you rate Chip Zdarksky's Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man run?

I jumped on with Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #6 and went through till the end with #310. I'd go great, more so for My Dinner With Jonah and Finale. This was my first time creating a poll here so nice to see it worked out. Hope the options cater to tastes.

Between good and great for me, so ....... very good if that was an option? Ultimately, I voted "good" simply because I thought his first 3-4 issues were poor, then quickly became great through the Jonah issue and a bit beyond. But then the time travel arc went on waaayyyy too long and simply wasn't good enough to take up nearly a year of the title's run. Moreover, issue #300 should have been special and instead it was just another chapter (or two) of that long drawn-out story (though that is probably more on editorial than Chip).

I think his run ended very strongly, thought; the Sandman 2-parter was really good and his swan song issue was great.

I can agree with most of this. The Tinkerer storyline dragged and #300 really sucked as an anniversary issue. I heard the issues before #6 were weak. I don't know if I'll visit them for completions sake or not.

    Good.

Zdarksy proved he could be an exceptional Spider-Man writer with the Jameson conversation, development of Teresa Parker, the Sandman issues, and finale. His anniversary time-travel story however went on too long and didn't feel all that inspired near the end, also did not take to another generic "Gwen is a hardass" character depiction in the altered timeline. To me, it just reinforced how bland the character is outside of the Spider-Gwen interpretation.

Excellent. Everything I would have wanted and more. The only way it could have been better is if it did me laundry and made lasagna for me.

A mixed bag in all honesty. The run started off weak, became very strong, then fizzled out towards its end.

I'd say it's good. It's a mixed bag, with a weak start, but some really great stuff, especially the last issue, and the Jonah conversation.

A drawback is that some of the great material is part of a much larger tale that has some weaker chapters, so it can't be completely removed from it.

He was able to work with great artists, with Kubert, Quinones and himself.
    Sincerely,

Between average and poor for me. There were several issues that I couldn’t even finish and I eventually dropped the book. It just wasn’t for me.
