There are probably a lot of titles I could do, but i want to get the Teen Titans / Outsiders crossover out of the way with as exceptional in that it expressed the relations between characters quite well.

Batman - The Dark Knight (returns), Year One, The Long Halloween
Superman - Superman for all Seasons

Sandman (the other one) - can I say the entire "Sandman Mystery Theater" run?

The Question - The entire O'Neil/Cowan run really, but "Desperate Ground" with Green Arrow was a highlight.
JLA - "The Nail", "Justice" (Alex Ross)

Most of my favourite extended stories are from long ago.

The adaptation of GREEN MANSIONS in RIMA THE JUNGLE GIRL (by Kanigher/Kubert/Redondo)

The adaptations of TARZAN OF THE APES and THE RETURN OF TARZAN in TARZAN OF THE APES (by Joe Kubert).

All of the Jack Kirby issues for KAMANDI, THE LAST BOY ON EARTH (with Royer/Berry).

The Sand Superman Saga in the Amazing New Adventures of SUPERMAN (by O'Neil/Swan/Anderson).

STAR HUNTERS (David Michelinie/Bob Layton and others).

That time when Bruce Wayne faked his own death and Batman took off his shirt to fight Ra's al Ghul in the desert and kissed Talia hard afterwards almost breaking his comics code, in BATMAN (by O'Neil/Novick/Adams/Giordano).

The Archie Goodwin run of DETECTIVE COMICS (with various).

The Steve Englehart run of DETECTIVE COMICS (with Simonson/Milgrom/Rogers/Austin).

The entire Martin Pasko run of SUPERMAN (with Swan/Adkins/Chiaramonte).

THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD debut of Hawkman and Hawkgirl (by Fox/Kubert).

Zatanna's search for her father in HAWKMAN, THE ATOM, GREEN LANTERN, DETECTIVE COMICS and JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (by Fox/Anderson/Kane/Greene/Infantino/Moldoff/Giella/Sekowsky).

The Starbreaker trilogy in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA (by Friedrich/Dillin/Giella/Fox/Sekowsy/Sachs).

The original run of SWAMP THING (by Wein/Wrightson/Redondo/Michelinie).

The Mike Sekowsky run of WONDER WOMAN (with O'Neil/Giordano).
