That was my first thought (!) , and a negative one. I get worried with every cover that Storm is not present. I am pretty good about letting some characters get a back seat, it's an ensemble, but she is elementary.

Also worried about Rogue? But less so.

Maybe Rosenberg's plan was to write such an awful, grimdark story with unsympathetic idiots as heroes and villains in order to drive the brand value of the X-Men down the gutter and make criticisms of Hickman's run seem minute in comparison?

My first thought about the girl on this cover was: Gambit/Rogue. Brown/black/purple is his color scheme. She has a coat. And she kinda looks like Rogue to me. I even see some white streaks on the hair, though that is probably just the lightning.

The Cuckoo's are above Logan and Paige is resting on Scott's right shoulder. Since there's pink on the blonde corpse in front of Jean, I'm forced to believe it's Tabby. Kurt's leg can be seen next to Mystique. Monet is the only HoX protagonist missing.
