HoX 1 was good but it is also heavy read. I am going to have to go back and read it couple more times to get everything.

Honestly, I saw a reviewer mention The Wild Storm.
It's roughly if the guy who is writing The Black Monday Murders came at the "X" IP from the The Wild Storm angle.
Really glad to see that some of the threads of Hickman's oldest Marvel work turned up.
While i get that there are going to be folks who view this through the "Grumpy Gus..." point-of-view, it was far better than whatever my highest expectations were.
It is not The Wild Storm angle imo but what I would say it has in common is it is mature take on superhero genre well except for big silly comic element that is pushing plot. Some people aren't going to like this book but I understand why the writers and Marvel guys were freaking out and praising it. If Marvel editorial stays out of way this could be some crazy brave stuff for the X-men. Now back to reading it again
Haven't posted in years, but just read this and I'm excited to be an X-Fan again. It feels fresh, logical (in some ways), and creepy.
Has anyone deciphered the blocks of Krakoan text under the circles on the pages after the main story?
Gotta say I absolutely loved this. It feels new and fresh and unexpected. I’ve been re-reading Hickman’s whole Marvel run and it’s nice to see how many details from it are mention/referenced here. Can’t wait to see how this all unfolds.
Well worth the read. One thing that has me interested:

In the section where they show when each issue is coming out HoX-2, HoX-5, and PoX-6 are highlighted in red. What could it mean
Le Suck it, Dolphin!
-God I am so tired.
SCOTT SUMMERS AND EMMA FROST DESERVED BETTER.
Very good issue.

I think the Karakoa tumour is going to spawn antibodies or something akin to a new species which will fight the X-Men for the territory.
So the premise is that Xaviers trading via Emma? Or that they're delivering the drugs in secret to those that need it via the East India trading company.

So are we thinking Xavier's utopia comes crashing down and humans double-down on their oppression to mutants after seeing the might of a united mutant race?
This book has me stopping and getting me giddy for the silliest little things spoilers:end of spoilers Some much good stuff. Back to reading
Did anyone else see the map of Krakoa stop think about what House of M and House of X means and how good of set up that is for stories. Will anyone else get an area? They did replaced the Danger Room with the Arena? Watching them plant Krakoa habits on Mars, Moon, Savage land and other places you can the seeds the for other stories. It is pretty neat that Krakoa is near to Australia where X-men use to have a base.
I'm so happy to see such a strong positive reaction to this first issue the X-fandom is such a diverse and passionate fandom that I was a little worried. I remember when Secret Wars was wrapping up and fans of his run were clamoring for him to get on the X-books, me included, so to see him work his magic and with positive reactions is a joy to be lol
Well...that was pretty much perfect in terms of bringing a freshness to the x-men universe. Literally so many concepts that can add years worth of story are introduced. Have a feeling we will be analyzing every detail of this issue for a long time.
