If there's not a Jim Zub/Al Ewing Alpha Flight book being announced, I have nothing to get excited over.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we also got the cover for Uncanny #23.

I don't care if it's Marvel, THIS is where they drop the Morning Glories Season 3 announcement.

Looking at the time I made this topic for the last one, it should be there in like two hours.

Marvel’s been doing these “X-Men: Seminal Moments” with Gerry Duggan, Al Ewing, Mark Waid, Adam Kubert, and Jason Aaron. That night be a hint of what’s coming up.

    That's not it.

It's that they don't think it's an appropriate element for certain franchises, particularly Spider-Man and X-Men. They view both as melodramatic soap operas and staunchly believe that the core characters shouldn't age past their 20s. Marriage matures the characters too much and, in Marvel's view, reduces the dramatic potential and strays too far from the "classical formula" of the franchise. "Illusion of change" and all that.

They're wrong, of course. But, good luck telling them that.

Thanks for bringing this up so we can talk about how Aaron and Duggan talked about how bold the story decisions were, Waid talked about the industry at the time, Kubert talked about the art craft, and then Rosenberg described X-Men #1 as sexy, badass, "maximum hugeness," and as modern culture.

I agree. This would be akin to when Morisson came on board more so than the 2nd coming of Claremont.
The Claremont era X-Men/New Mutants/X-Factor/Excalibur were products of their time and the people who ran that Office.
This is a vastly different time with vastly different people (editors/writers).
All I hope /pray for is that it will be better than what's been given over the past decade.
