eh... I dunno bout that. Magik, Wolfsbane, Chamber, karma (And Mirage before the finale) all weren't critical of Scott. For the most part it was only Wolverine(duh), Havok and Hope

Chamber died literally cursing Scott's name. Dani attacked Scott for no reason at the end too.

Haven’t read through this thread but what about mutants who have murder/kill other mutants in cold blood in the past? Is it forgiven in this new status quo?

It's the very fallacy of creating devices to stagnate human evolution. Mutants are an evolutionary step in human advancement, just as larger brains, standing fully upright, and our agility with our hands and arms was an evolutionary step forward. Technically the mutants represent a period of chaotic change in the human genome, given enough time the mutant powers would eventually settle down into the most useful for human survival and advancement of the species as a whole.

It's inevitable that the prevalence of the X-Gene will continue to increase in humanity, but everyone is right, Mutants and Humans are the same species. Mutants are a genetic differentiation from Homo Sapiens.

It's not Homo Superior, it is actually Homo Sapiens Superior. Mutants are a part of the general Homo Sapiens genome, they are not a separate species, they are a subspecies within the same genome family.

This is why the creation of the Sentinels is always set out to fail humans and mutants both. Eventually the AI of the Sentinels will extrapolate that all humans are in fact a mutation of an earlier form of life, and that they will continue to mutate/evolve into the future. The only way to prevent the evolution of humans is to absorb them all into the machines themselves.

Agreed and then we have the inhumans, the eternals and the deviants in the marvel universe all those also are subspecies within the human family as a result of genetic experiments made by the celestials and the kree. The mutants are just a more recent subspecies who is still being born within humankind, there are mutants like Mystique and Sabretooth who had Graydon Creed and humans like Canonball´s mother who has a very large number of mutant children, there´s still much left in the air about mutantkind and humankind future. Hickman´s story seems to be about how this was never solved so machines took over earth exterminating mutants and dictating over humans until they also became part machine. So the question is are the X-men doing building Krakoa just to protect themselves and they see humanity as the ultimate enemy or they want to find a way to a different future than the one Moira saw were machines are not the ones in charge? I remember what Hickman said, it will look like something then it´s going to change into another thing.

I would say that not only religious zealots hate mutants, we also had Genosha magistrates who saw mutants as resources to exploit, Graydon Creed who was plainly afraid of them, Sentinels build by goverment organizations as a way of controlling them and their powers,etc. The X-men still can be used as a reflection on prejuices in the real world and the many shapes it takes, the problem is that since Morrison the X-men started using the term mutant species instead of mutant race to refer to mutants in general and "Homo sapiens superior" of course was going to cause humans to see mutants as their natural "other" who has to be eliminated instead of their very literal children.

Yes, pretty much everyone is given a fresh starting point. Whatever happened in the past is in the past.

Haha that's exactly what I'd love to see. Maggie going over some scientific theory about rattles and Shogo is all, "...... *drool* ..."
